Eeek! Ankle mobility check! My regular class attendees facebook and IG followers will know of my well documented squat progress. A comfortable ‘full squat’ still eludes me. Mainly due to my lack of ankle mobility, dorsiflexion. Despite really wanting to be able to sit in a full squat, I am OK with this. Our natural movement boundaries can be a great reminder to check-in with self. Our limitations can show us when we move away of self-love towards a detached perfection and body-based image negatively. Despite having many movement goals, I don’t want my love of movement to be eclipsed by perfection. I can’t feel empowered if I’m not on my own team.
